New webmaster needed.

1st Woodlawn Group has maintained (if somehwat inconsistently) a website since about 2000. For the past few years, I've been looking after it. But now I'm moving into other things, and we need someone else to maintain it. This is a volunteer position (no pay).

The ideal person to fill the job would be a Scouting member - a leader or an older youth member who can write in HTML. We will even agree to having a parent look after it. Here's how you apply for the position:

  1. Study the entire website, to get a feel for what it tries to convey.
  2. Put on your thinking cap and decide how you would redesign the home page - that's the file named "index.html". But you already know that, don't you?
  3. Redesign it, and email it to me as an attachment. I'll have all submissions reviewed and judged, and if the quality is there, then we'll choose someone.
  4. In your email, tell me about yourself, and how you would generally plan to do things. You would be expected to keep up to date on group activities, and suggest ways of adding new features to the website.

Although there are some very flashy website out there, I've always believed it was more important to keep the website simple, unsophisticated, informative, and - most of all - accessible to all browsers.

  5. Send the email ASAP with its attachment to me, webmaster Bob Lindsay.
